Football Trial Links PS Stack to Better Reaction and Sprint Metrics
By Nutranexa News |
A 10-day trial in professional football players associated a taurine-caffeine-PS stack with better locomotor output, reaction time, and selected technical indicators, though the paper notes PS-specific attribution remains unresolved.

What The Protocol Looked Like
The single-blind randomized trial assigned 81 professional male football players to placebo, taurine plus caffeine, or taurine plus caffeine plus phosphatidylserine for 10 days.
The PS arm used 300 mg PS alongside taurine and caffeine before a standardized 105-minute training session, with reaction time, sprint performance, GPS-derived outputs, and technical indicators measured.
What The Study Reported
The PubMed abstract says the taurine-caffeine-PS group was associated with more favorable physical, cognitive, and selected game-related outcomes than placebo, including smaller fatigue-related declines in sprint metrics and stronger passing and dribbling indicators.
The authors also cautioned that caffeine doses differed between active groups, so the independent effect of PS cannot be determined from this design.
Buyer Takeaway
For active-nutrition formulators, the paper reinforces the commercial relevance of PS in multi-ingredient performance concepts rather than only memory-positioned supplements.
At the same time, suppliers should avoid oversimplifying the result into a PS-only story when the publication itself treats the cognitive and tactical findings as preliminary and mixed with other actives.
