Healthy term infants were randomized to a concept formula with large, milk phospholipid-coated lipid droplets enriched in dairy lipids or to a conventional control formula, with an exclusively breastfed group used as a reference.

Body composition was followed through infancy and into toddlerhood with air-displacement plethysmography, DXA, and abdominal ultrasonography.

The abstract reports no significant differences between the two formula groups for fat mass index standard deviation score or other body-composition trajectories through age two.

The concept formula was described as well tolerated and showed similar safety to the control formula.
