Higher-Dose PS-DHA Formula Leads ADHD Cognitive Trial
By Nutranexa News |
A randomized trial in children with ADHD or subthreshold symptoms found the highest-dose PS plus DHA formula outperformed placebo and lower-dose comparators on multiple attention and inhibition measures.

What Researchers Tested
The trial randomized 45 medication-naive children aged 10 to 14 years to placebo, a PS capsule with DHA, a PS sachet without DHA, or a higher-dose PS Plus capsule containing 150 mg PS and 26.67 mg DHA for eight weeks.
Researchers assessed cognitive changes with the MOXO continuous performance test and the Stroop test before and after intervention.
What The Trial Found
According to the PubMed abstract, the PS Plus group showed the strongest improvements in attention, impulsivity, hyperactivity, and reaction time, while the placebo and lower-dose groups changed less and looked broadly similar to one another.
The abstract also says only the PS Plus group showed significant reductions in Stroop error rates and correction counts, which the authors interpret as better inhibitory control and cognitive flexibility.
Buyer Takeaway
For ingredient buyers, this is a useful reminder that dose architecture and co-nutrient pairing can matter as much as ingredient inclusion itself when a finished product is built for cognition-support positioning.
Teams translating this kind of evidence into commercial concepts should still separate trial conditions from market claims and confirm whether the target product can realistically support the studied serving format.
