China Standard Sets Official Method for Phosphatidylserine Testing
By Nutranexa News |
China's national standard GB/T 46804-2025, in effect since July 1, 2026, defines how phosphatidylserine content is measured in beverages, confectionery, convenience foods, and dairy products.

Standard Basics
The Standardization Administration of China published GB/T 46804-2025, Determination of phosphatidylserine in food, on December 2, 2025, and the standard took effect on July 1, 2026.
The document describes a method for measuring phosphatidylserine content and applies to beverages, candies including pressed and gummy formats, convenience foods, and dairy products.
Development and Scope

The standard was prepared under the National Technical Committee on Food Industry Standardization (SAC/TC 64) and issued by the State Administration for Market Regulation and the Standardization Administration of China.
Drafting involved food research institutes, testing and certification organizations, and supplement and ingredient companies, giving the method broad applicability across finished food formats rather than raw ingredients alone.
Buyer Takeaway
For buyers qualifying phosphatidylserine for China-market finished products, the standard provides a national reference method for verifying PS content in formulated foods and beverages.
Buyers can use the method to align third-party finished-product testing with Chinese requirements and to compare supplier data against a recognized national testing basis.
